Develop Human Capital to Explore Employees' Talent

Urban Group regards employees as the most valuable human capital to the company. We have invested a substantial amount of resources in people development. Our first Management Trainee was launched in 1985. In 2004, we have also introduced "Project Sunshine Programme" aiming to attract high-calibers to join the Group.

We have provided a clear career path for our staff by the means of a unique 360-degree performance appraisal system, the Strategic Employee Evaluation and Development Scheme (SEEDS) and Superior Urban Performance Evaluation and Review Baseline (SUPERB). These performance evaluation tools facilitate our employees to self-evaluate their own working performance as well as to be evaluated by their supervisors. Through these exercises, our employees will have a clearer understanding on their career development in line with our corporate direction.

Urban Group adopts "Knowledge Mastery Strategy" to cope with business development and growth. Different training programs such as on-the-job training, workshops, experience sharing sessions, strategic forums, mass scale training, seminars, symposiums, distance learning (Human Asset Value Creation Learning Card) and e-Learning have been adopted to stimulate the learning interest of our employees. These training programmes include Orientation and Induction Programme, In-house Corporate Training Programme, TQM Commitment Days, Urban Warrior Scheme and so on, aiming to provide substantial knowledge of all aspects to all levels of employees. Employees are able to improve themselves through continuous learning under a life long learning culture established in Urban. The continuous enhancement of our Human Capital surely increases the competitiveness of the Urban in the marketplace.

The Urban Corporate University initiates a Learning Culture

To be the pioneer in the Hong Kong property and facility management industry, the Urban Corporate University was established in August 2004 to provide various certificate courses to Urban’s employees, allowing them to continuously absorb new knowledge and new technology. Encouraging staff to participate in and benefit from lifetime learning results in increased service quality.
