Urban Group received a total of 90 awards in the prize presentation ceremony of “2019 Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE) & Hong Kong Green Organization Certification (HKGOC)”, commending their outstanding achievements in green management and collaborative efforts in adopting environmental practices.
In order to reduce mass gathering under the epidemic situation of COVID‐19, the presentation ceremony was held virtually on 3 July 2020. At the presentation ceremony, Rhythm Garden, San Po Kong, was honored with the Gold Award under the category of Property Management (Residential) and this was the 4th consecutive years for Rhythm Garden to be awarded in HKAEE.
In the meanwhile, 89 properties managed by Urban Group were recognized as Green Organization from the same event, in recognition of their outstanding performance and achievement of Green Practice.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group remarked, “We are honored to receive the great recognition in the “2019 HKAEE & HKGOC”. Over the years, we strive to devote our corporate resources to fulfill the corporate social responsibilities through promoting green management and participating in various environmental activities. The Award recognition would be an encouragement and drive us ahead with greater contribution in environmental protection.”
The HKAEE and the HKGOC are led by the Environmental Campaign Committee alongside the Environmental Protection Department and in conjunction with nine organizations, namely, the Advisory Council on the Environment, the Business Environment Council, the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the
Hong Kong Chinese Importers’ & Exporters’ Association, the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce and the Hong Kong Productivity Council.
The HKAEE is an annual award which aims to encourage businesses and organizations to adopt green management and acknowledge the efforts of leading businesses and organizations.
The HKGOC is a prestigious certification scheme aims to benchmark the outstanding green performance of organizations and encourages them to sustain their environmental practices.
