Urban Group Caring Day 2016 arranges 85 Children to visit Ecopark

Urban Group, Hong Kong’s Premier Property Assets and Facility Management Group jointly organized with the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong to launch the Urban Group Caring Day 2016 on November 26, 2016 at the Lung Yat Estate Community Hall in Tuen Mun. 87 corporate volunteers of Urban Group joined the event and accompanied 85 children to visit EcoPark and educated them to create decent handicrafts, showing their love and care to the underprivileged and ethnic minority children.

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group and Ms Selina Chan, Coordinating Secretary of Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong officiated the Launching Ceremony of the Urban Group Caring Day 2016, symbolizing the joint efforts of both organizations to spread a caring message to the community. With the theme of caring and environmental protection, Urban’s corporate volunteers assisted the children in creating handicrafts by wasted materials. Urban also prepared a gift pack to all children during the event.

Dr Edmond Cheng pointed out that we have organized the Caring Day event for 4 consecutive years. With our core value of ‘Caring for the Community’, we are committed to strive for the best endeavours to spread our caring messages to the community.”

Dr Cheng continued, “This year, we add new elements into to our Caring Day. We want to promote sustainable development of the society and spread the concept of environmental protection through visiting the Ecopark and making handicrafts by the waste.”

“Urban has been shouldering our corporate social responsibilities over the years through participating in various social service activities including the Trailwalker, Green Power Hike, fund-raising events of the Community Chest and the Social Welfare Department Volunteering Movement Campaigns. Also, Urban Group has been receiving the Caring Company Certificate from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for over 10 years.” Dr Cheng revealed.

Our corporate and property volunteer teams have also been awarding the Appreciation Certificate for
Volunteer Services and the Leading Caring Estates recognition, demonstrating our achievements in organizing corporate social responsibility activities among our staff members and customers.” Dr Cheng continued.

Urban Group Community Care Team has been established for the corporate volunteering team since 2002, connecting and encouraging staff and customers to join voluntary service. Nowadays, 31 property volunteer teams of Urban Group have participated in various corporate caring projects for the needy people in the society.
