Urban Group received the ERB Outstanding Employer Award in the 8th Manpower Development Scheme Award Presentation Ceremony organised by the Employees Retraining Board (ERB), recognizing its outstanding contributions to the ERB Manpower Development Scheme and endeavours in providing job opportunities for the retrainees to rebuild their self-confidence. This is the fifth consecutive year for Urban Group to receive the ERB Award.
The 8th Manpower Development Scheme Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 21st November 2015, and officiated by The Honourable Matthew Cheung Kin Chung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare. Altogether 14 companies were presented the “Outstanding Employer Award” and 24 companies received the “Merit Employer Award”.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group reveals, “Over the years, Urban Group actively supports ERB retraining programmes. We provide job opportunities in property and facility management field for the retrainees and arrange positions on concierge and club house assistants. Moreover, we contribute suggestions on the contents and development of the ERB programmes to enhance the skills and employability of future retrainees.”
The objectives of the Manpower development Scheme of ERB are to assist the graduates of ERB programme to re-enter the job market upon completion of trainings, to sustain in their new posts, and to move up their career ladders. Moreover, this annual award is to commend the outstanding performance of the graduates as well as the ERB training partner and the tutors who actively support and participate in the Scheme.
Urban Group has been awarded the Employers Gold Star Award - Platinum Award and the Employers Gold Star Award from ERB in recent years. From 2011 to 2014 Urban Group received the Outstanding Award from ERB for 4 consecutive years, recognizing its contribution in retraining programme. The group offers the internship opportunities for the teenagers and the disadvantage. Recently, Urban Group has granted the Partner Employer Certificates, jointly presented by the Hong Kong Chamber of SMEs and the Hong Kong Vocational Training Council, commending its contributions in organizing career development programmes for the disadvantaged and the young people.
