34 properties under Urban Group support World Vision's Used Book Recycling and Charity Sale

Urban Group has been supporting World Vision Hong Kong to launch the "Used Book Recycling and Charity Sale Campaign" for the 13th consecutive years since 2001. This year, the Campaign obtained overwhelming supports from customers of 34 properties under the Group with 50,000 books collected for the World Vision's Secondary School Construction Project in the Guangdong Province of China.

The 34 properties under Urban Group participated in the Campaign include:

Mr. K M So, Executive Director of Urban Group states that, "Urban Group always strives to fulfill our corporate social responsibility by participating in various environmental care activities. The Group established its Green Care Committee in 2002, to identify the strategy and direction on environmental protection, aiming at providing a comfortable green environment to the residents."

Mr. K M So continues, "With our corporate missions of 'Green Lifestyle' and 'Community Care', we have obtained the support from customers of 34 properties to participate in the Used Book Recycling and Charity Sale Campaign this year. Books collected from our customers include textbooks, leisure readings, novels, children's readers and reference books, which were donated to World Vision Hong Kong to assist their educational programmes in the Mainland China, and most importantly, to contribute to resources reuse, to lessen the financial burden of parents in purchasing books for their children, and to foster citizens' interest in reading."

Urban Group is an advocate of environmental care in the Hong Kong property asset and facility management services industry. Apart from used books recycling, the Group also launches various recycling initiatives including used clothes, CDRs, batteries as well as second-hand electrical appliances. Its ultimate goal is to enhance the environmental protection awareness of its customers and to promote its corporate social responsibility through participating in different recycling campaigns.
