Urban Group awarded ERB Manpower Developer 1st - Grand Award

Following their success in last year's ERB Manpower Developer 1st (MD 1st) Award, Urban Group recently received the MD 1st - Grand Award from the Employee Retraining Board (ERB) in recognition to their devotion and participation in retraining programmes organized by the Board. 

This Award acknowledges the outstanding achievement of Urban Group in manpower training and development, their contributions to the promotion of a learning culture within the Group and their strong commitment to corporate social responsibility by supporting ERB's retraining services.

The ERB Manpower Developer Award Scheme aims to promote a corporate culture based on manpower training and development among organizations, heighten the awareness of employers and employees on continuous updrading and recognize employers who are committed to manpower training and development.  The selection is based on the result of preliminary assesemnt and on-site inspection on the five areas of Leading a Learning Culture, Resources Planning, Training and Development System, Performance Management and Corporate Social Responsibility in Manpower Development.

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group reveals, "Urban Group has been a long term partner of ERB since 1999.  We jointly organized retraining courses on property management and security services with ERB and employ some 250 retrainees from the Board every year.  Over the years, We have been working with ERB and the Labour Department to launch training and retaining programmes to enhance equal opportunities for job seekers such as the Employment for the Middle-aged programme, the Rainbow Project for the Middle Age Re-employment Programme.  Moreover, we also participated in the School Business Partnership Programme and the One-Company- One-Job Campaign of the Education and Manpower Bureau and the Labour Department.  We also joined with universities to conduct manpower devdelopment programmes including the Executive Management Trainee Programme, Graduate Employment Training Scheme and the Project Sunshine - University Graduate Trainees Recruitment to help develop professionals in real estate and facility management ."
