3 Properties under Urban Group
win 4 Awards in Source Separation of Waste Scheme by HKHA

Three properties under Urban Group were recently awarded in the "Source Separation of Domestic Waste Competition (Public Housing)" organized by the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HKHA), demonstrating the achievements in environmental management services of the Group.

The Awards obtained by the 3 properties under Urban Group include:

Organized by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD), the Programme on Source Separation of Domestic Waste has been launched since April 2005. The Programme aims to enhance the separation of domestic waste at source by providing residents with waste separation facilities on each floor of the buildings and also broadens the types of recyclables to be covered. To motivate the participation of public housing estates in the Programme, HKHA carries out the "Source Separation of Domestic Waste Competition (Public Housing)". The winning estates were jointly selected by the adjudication panel of HKHA and EPD according to the judging criteria of recycling effectiveness, waste separation facilities, cost effectiveness and residents' participation rate.

Dr. Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group points out that, "More than 20 properties under Urban Group are now participating in the 'Programme on Source Separation of Domestic Waste'. Another 8 properties under our service have also been commended by EPD in the same Programme in December 2005. All of these outstanding achievements highly reflect our endeavours and contributions to green management."
