Pioneer position assured Urban becomes the First Private Management Company

The i-Urban Limited under the Urban Group was recently appointed by the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HKHA) to design and maintain an Estate Portal for 2 newly completed housing estates respectively, which explores a new business horizon in the private property management industry.

The 2 housing estates are respectively Yau Tong Estate and Yau Mei Court in Yau Tong, involving around 7,000 flats. Expectedly, the portals will serve up to 20,000 people.

According to the contract, i-Urban Limited will take care of the design, development, hosting, management and maintenance of the Estate Portal for Yau Tong Estate and Yau Mei Court. The company has already deployed a team of internet portal experts to fulfil the requirements of the contract.

According to Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of the Urban Group, "The Estate Portal for Yau Tong Estate and Yau Mei Court respectively is currently under fine-tuning, which will be launched very soon. As the estate portal developer, i-Urban Limited will strive to provide the best service to the residents by constantly updating the contents of the portals and to work hand in hand with HKHA to fulfill its goal of intelligent management."

Yau Tong Estate and Yau Mei Court are the pilot intelligent properties developed by HKHA. The portals are one of the major IT provisions endorsed by HKHA to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency in customer service and building management.

Dr Cheng emphasized, "i-Urban Limited is a professional estate portal developer established by the Urban Group to fulfil our new management concept combining People, Process and Technology. The company is responsible for designing the unique estate portal – i-UrbanTM for the 300-strong properties under our management. The portal is a combination of information-laden websites and on-line property management concept to provide 24-hour updated estate news and a variety of on-line services for our customers, aiming to foster better communications and to enhance their sense of belongings among Urban, the properties and the community."

The i-UrbanTM portal managed by the i-Urban Limited is a part of the Sm@rtUrbanTM Management Model of the Urban Group. It is an IT based operation model which incorporates the major elements of property and facility management including Estate Management, Technical Management, Financial Management, Administrative Management and Customer Management, greatly enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness in the delivery of quality services to realize the new management concept of "A Combination of People, Process and Technology" introduced by the Urban Group.
