Urban Group participates in New Territories Walk

One hundred staff and their family members of the Urban Group participated in the New Territories Walk 2002 organized by The Community Chest on 3rd March 2002 to raise fund for the “Family and Child Welfare Services” supported by The Chest.

Led by Deputy Managing Director Mr P C Lau, Urban’s staff members participated in the New Territories Walk assembled and started from the Sha Tin Racecourse, walked around Penfold Park, passing through scenic spots along the Shing Mun River Promenade and finished the walk at the KCRC University Station. All participants were able to complete the journey within two hours and were presented a Certificate of Merit by The Community Chest to thank for their support.

Deputy Managing Director of Urban Mr P C Lau said, “as a socially concerned management group, Urban encourages our staff members to participate in various kinds of community activities to enhance the concept of corporate citizenship. I am glad that a substantial number of our staff participated in the New Territories Walk organized by The Community Chest. We will continue to participate in various kinds of community services in future to promote the value of helping others and to lend support to those in need.”

The Urban Group actively supported and participated in various kinds of community services over the years. The company always takes the lead in encouraging its staff members to join various community and voluntary services so as to help the people in need. Last year, Urban joined the “Dress Casual Day” of The Community Chest as well as the “Volunteer-chains Across Borders” organized by the Social Welfare Department, motivating staff members to knit the scarves for the needy people both in Hong Kong and across the borders. Moreover, the staff volunteers of Urban helped the elderly living in flats under its management to clean their homes during the Lunar New Year holiday.
