Security guards of Mei Foo Sun Chuen awarded "Best Security Guard of Kowloon West Region"

In the "2000-2001 Kowloon West Region Best Security Guard Selection" jointly organized by the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies and the Crime Prevention Office of the Kowloon West Region, the Hong Kong Police Force, two security guards of Mei Foo Sun Chuen were awarded as "Best Security Guard".

The two awards went to Mr Y T Kong, who received the "Best Security Guard of the Year" and Mr H T Tsui, who received the "Well-performed Security Guard Award", indicating the good performance of the two security guards were recognized by both the Police and property management professionals.

The Prizes Presentation Ceremony of the "2000-2001 Kowloon West Region Best Security Guard Selection" was held recently in the Kowloon West Regional Headquarters. Totally, 38 security guards from different companies were awarded in the event. The "Best Security Guard of the Year" Mr Y T Kong was lauded for his bravery in an over 500 metres' chase of a violent culprit at Mei Foo Sun Chuen. His strong determination to protect the law and order of the estate made him an unbeatable winner in the said award.

According to Ms Millie Stradmoor, Regional Commander of Kowloon West Region, "It is the firs ever commendation award for the outstanding security guards of the whole Kowloon West Region and each awarded security guard is the elite in the industry. Quality security personnel can assist the police to fight crime so as to provide a safe and comfortable living environment for the Hong Kong people."

Dr Edmond Cheng, Executive Director of Broadway-Nassau Investments Limited, the property manager of Mei Foo, praised the excellent performance of the two security guards. "Security guards are to protect the safety of lives and properties of the residents. In Mei Foo, they are constantly trained to upgrade their knowledge in security services so as to improve their overall quality. The outstanding performance of the two staff well show that they possess professional knowledge and courage to handle extraordinary cases to maintain law and order in the estate."
