Urban Property Management appoints Five Senior Executive

Urban Property Management Limited is pleased to announce a number of promotions and new appointments of its senior executives. Mr P C Lau and Dr Edmond Cheng have been appointed as Executive Director, Ms Paula Yuen is promoted to Director of Finance, Mr K M So is promoted to Director of Technical Services and Mr Francis Chiu has been appointed as Director of Human Resources and Administration.
Mr P C Lau joined Urban Property Management Limited in 1993 after 37 years with the Housing Department of the Hong Kong Government when he retired as Assistant Director of Housing. Mr Lau is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Housing and a fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Housing. He has over 40 years of extensive experience working in estate management, land control and administration. He will look after the overall operations, business strategies and service enhancement programmes of Urban.
Dr Edmond Cheng has over 20 years experience in property and facility management, strategic management, sales and letting of real estate properties in Hong Kong. He obtained his Doctorate Degree from the University of South Australia concentrating on Business and Management. Dr Cheng is the prevailing President of The Hong Kong Institute of Housing and holds a number of memberships in various professional bodies of the real estate field. He is a Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Housing and a member of The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He is now a Registered Professional Surveyor (General Practice), a Registered Professional Housing Manager, a member of the Real Estate Services Training Board and Housing Managers Registration Board, a Certified Facility Manager and a Licenced Estate Agent. As Executive Director of Urban, he shall play a key role in the administration, formulation of strategies, development of business opportunities, application of information technology and business process re-engineering for the Company.
Ms Paula Yuen joined Urban in 1989 as Group Accounting Manager. Graduated from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in accounting, Ms Yuen started her career in Price Waterhouse and has substantial experiences in serving large listed companies in Hong Kong. Before joining Urban, Ms Yuen worked for the Hong Kong Islands Line Group, a shipping subsidiary of New World Development Company. She will be responsible for all the estate accounts and financial arrangements of the Company.
Mr K M So joined Urban in 1992 as Group Technical Manager. Mr So obtained his Master of Science Degree in Engineering Business Management (with distinction) from the University of Warwick. Mr So is a member of International Facility Management Association, Institute of Hong Kong Real Estate Administration, Hong Kong Occupational, Safety and Health Association, American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-conditioning Engineers and Association of Cost Engineers. He has also been designated as "Real Estate Administrator" and "Certified Facility Manager". In addition, Mr So is the Director and General Manager of Urban Technical Services, a subsidiary of Urban Property Management Limited, and the Chairman of Urban's Quality Committee. Mr So will take care of the technical service, quality management and information technology projects of Urban.
Mr Francis Chiu completed his graduate studies at ESSEC Graduate School of Management in France and Cornell University in USA. He possessed more than 10 years of executive management experience in human resources and business operations. Mr Chiu previously worked for a number of well-known organizations within the New World Group. Prior to his appointment in Urban, he was the Facility Services Manager of New World Services Limited. Mr Chiu will be responsible for the human resources, administration and training activities of Urban.
