Urban Group was recently awarded the Caring Certificate in the Industry Cares Corporate Social Responsibility Recognition Scheme organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) to recognize its CSR achievements. In particular, the Group has been awarded for 6 consecutive years, which commended its continuous contributions in engaging in social services and serving the community.
The Industry Cares Recognition Scheme aims to inculcate the importance of CSR to the industries and encourage companies to integrate CSR spirit and culture in their daily operations. Also, the Scheme encourages all Companies in Hong Kong to devote more resources to CSR projects and build CSR as a popular corporate culture in order to achieve the purpose of resource sharing.
The 6th Certificate Presentation Ceremony was held in Hilton Garden Inn Hong Kong Mongkok on 18 September 2018. The Honorable Cheung Kin Chung, GBM, GBS, JP, the Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR was the Guest-of-Honour of the event and presented the Caring Certificate to the awarding companies.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group said, “We are delighted to become one of the awardees in the FHKI Corporate Social Responsibility Recognition Scheme. Urban Group has been shouldering our corporate social responsibilities over the years through our continuous participation in a number of social service activities including Green Power Hike, fund-raising events of the Community Chest and the Social Welfare Department Volunteering Movement Campaigns. We actively encourage our staff members and our customers to engage in social services through our corporate volunteering team—the Urban Group Community Care Team and our 46 property volunteer teams to care for the deprived people in the society.”
Dr Edmond Cheng continued, “Urban Group has been receiving the Caring Company recognition from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for over 15 years. In addition, our corporate volunteer team and property volunteer teams have been awarded the Appreciation Certificate for Volunteer Service as well as the Leading Caring Estates recognition, demonstrating our achievement in implementing CSR among our staff members and customers.”
