Four properties under Urban Group recently received 7 awards including the 10 Years Special Award, Excellent Class Certificates and Good Class Certificates in the Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Certificate Award Ceremony 2017 cum Technical Seminar organized by the IAQ Information Centre under the Environmental Protection Department (EPD). The Certificates are awarded to premises which comply with the respective IAQ objectives and to recognize their endeavours in implementing good practices to provide a pleasant indoor environment for all users.
The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) has launched the Scheme since 2003 to promote good IAQ management practices. With the surging number of premises participating in this scheme, showing that the community has become increasingly aware of the importance of IAQ management.
Dr. Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, “We are committed to provide a healthy indoor environment for our customers and staff. We have been actively participating in the IAQ Certification Scheme for Offices and Public Places organized by EPD. We also appointed approved assessors to evaluate the IAQ standard of our premises against the respective objectives. Moreover, Urban has implemented a series of enhancement projects to upgrade the indoor air quality of the properties under our services, including installing air purifiers in the buildings, replacing stainless steel louvers and ducts in the plant rooms, replacing PAU filters and scheduling regular cleaning for the filters and ducts to pursue the best level of air quality."
In particular, New World Tower in Central received the 10 Years Special Award in recognition of its 10years continuous commitment to the IAQ scheme and provides a pleasant and healthy working environment for all users of the property.
