Developed from its total quality management approach, Urban Group’s facility management service emphasizes “People, Process and Space Performance”. Services include facility space planning and design, cost control, operations and maintenance, supporting services, and value and process improvement services, which aim to enhance the productivity of the facility assets for different organizations to achieve the expected business results.

Urban Group leverages these services through comprehensive facility management planning prior to the completion of the facility assets. Services include infrastructure design, logistics, human capital allocations, maintenance schedules, work flow design, cost control and the overall supply chain design and implementation. Utilizing these leads to the long-term and cost-effective operational environment for customers.

A Pioneer in Public Facility Management

Urban Group is an early industry leader in public facility management. Since the early 1990’s Urban has managed several government facility assets including government offices, service quarters, helipads, public piers and telecommunication facilities. Urban was the first private management company appointed by the Transport Department to operate and manage the world’s longest escalator system – The Central to Mid-levels Escalator and Walkway System and was responsible for the facility management and relocation services for the former Kai Tak International Airport in 1997.

Commercial Facility Management for Business Results

The facility management services of Urban Group in the private sector cover modern laundry facilities, public transportation depots and production plants. Services include project design, facility planning, logistics management, cost control and production lines development. Since 2000, Urban Group has managed the largest laundry plant facility in Hong Kong - the New China Laundry Group in Fanling, which has a gross service area of 86,000 square feet. Urban also manages the depots for New World First Bus Limited and the production facility of Mei Ah Investment Company Limited, an entertainment and media production company.
