Date: 1/6/2023

Urban Group recently received a total of 122 certificates in the Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnership Scheme 2022, acknowledging their efforts in promoting and developing an age-friendly culture in Hong Kong. This year, it is notable that the Group was given the new “Anti-epidemic” Recognition Sticker, as an appreciation of our contribution in providing aid to the needy during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, “During the pandemic, our volunteers created a series of videos featuring music, sports and eco-friendly lifestyle as well as conducted virtual visits to entertain and express affection to seniors while maintaining social distancing. In addition, we have consistently encouraged and supported managed properties to care for the seniors by offering elderly friendly outdoor areas and buildings, convenient transport facilities, recruiting senior citizens, catering to the needs of seniors, and delivering health and support services in a joint effort to create an age-friendly city.”

Urban Group established its Community Care Team since 2002 and has devoted significant resources to various CSR initiatives including the noteworthy ‘Caring Day’ which mobilized over 100 volunteers to share love and compassion.

The Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnership Scheme aims to encourage stakeholders from different community segments, including the business sector, government departments and public organisations, to work together to create an age-friendly culture and environment in the community.
