2 projects under Urban Group’s management, EcoPark (Tuen Mun) and Mei Foo Sun Chuen (Lai Chi Kok) were granted “Best Property Management Award in Occupational Safety and Health - Merit Award” on 30 June 2022 in the “The 9th Best Property Safety Management Award”, to commend their outstanding practices in protecting employee’s safety and health at the workplace and enhancing Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards among the industry.
Dr. Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group remarked, “Urban Group always emphasizes on providing a safe and healthy workplace for our staff and all stakeholders, we have established Occupational Safety and Health Committee to formulate, implement and review OSH policies to promote a safety-conscious culture and to protect the health and well-being of our employees. Based on a comprehensive OSH framework, our managed projects actively enforce different measures to achieve a higher standard of excellence. For instance, EcoPark Management Team adheres to “5S” management concept, including purchase of individual protective equipment and a series of education and promotions, which is to raise awareness on work safety and to build a clean and dependable workplace environment; Mei Foo Sun Chuen Management Team implements “Traffic Light Safety Scheme” to perform risk assessment and formulate preventive measures before starting maintenance or construction work, and so forth.”
“The 9th Best Property Safety Management Award” is organized by Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC), Labour Department, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department and The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies. It aims to show appreciation to corporations in property management industry with significant OSH performance and their best practices in OSH to raise the OSH standard among the industry. This year, there is a total of 250 projects participated in the competition.
