Urban Group organized "Happiness at Home" Volunteer Service Program with the Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong from November and December in 2021 to take care of the physical and mental health of elderly during COVID-19 outbreak. Corporate volunteers recorded a series of music, sports and green lifestyle videos as well as held virtual visits in order to entertain and send love to over 4,000 elderly while keeping social distance.
The Project not only provides learning opportunity for the elderly with dementia to practice rainbow bell and help them to release emotional feeling, but also encourages elderly doing more stretching exercises to maintain healthy body. Moreover, corporate volunteers shared planting skills and tips with elderly, enabling them to experience planting at home and enjoy green lifestyle.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, "Urban Group has established Community Caring Team since 2002 and has devoted crucial resources to various CSR projects including its remarkable project 'Caring Day', leading over 100 volunteers to spread love and care. The Community Caring Team has accumulated over 16,000 service hours and advocated managed properties to establish 65 volunteer teams so as to perform the Group's corporate spirit of Community Care."
