Urban Group and its associated companies together with properties under its management, received a total of 131 certificates from ‘Friends of EcoPark 2020’ in recognition of the Group’s contribution to the environmental improvement by way of the implementation of green policies.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group remarked, “We are delighted to be entitled as ‘Friends of EcoPark’ again this year. Over the years, we have invested significant resources in enforcing sustainable waste management strategies. Taking the Group's advantages in the property and facility management network, we have always devoted to promoting environmental protection to the general public through a range of green campaigns. In the meanwhile, we take lead in implementing source reduction and elevating the practice of upcycling so as to create a better environment together.”
“Friends of EcoPark” Scheme was first launched by Environmental Protection Department since 2010, and has been widely supported by various industries. The Scheme aims to promote collaboration between EcoPark tenants and the public and private sectors to re-invest waste resources into the recycling operations and help raising public awareness on resources regeneration. This year, a total of 322 organizations has received this recognition from in the Scheme.
