Seven properties under the management of Urban Group were entitled as EcoChallenger or EcoPartner in the 2016 Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited (“BOCHK”) Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards Presentation Ceremony held in June 2017, in recognition of their endeavours in organizing green management campaigns to reduce carbon emission, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the environment.
BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards Scheme, jointly organised by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and BOCHK, aims to promote environmental practices among the manufacturing and services enterprises in Hong Kong and the Pan Pearl River Delta region, helping to reduce the pollution in these areas. In this year, there is a record-breaking participation rate, of which 530 enterprises are awarded and more than 1,000 environmental projects have been completed.
“I am very pleased that Grand View Garden is entitled as EcoChallenger. The management office has organized various environmental projects which include adopting LED lighting in the lifts, organising barter event and collecting used clothes for recycling.” said Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group.
The other 6 properties, namely Ka Tin Court, Kingsford Terrace, Kwun Hei Court, Lung Poon Court, Pok Hong Estate and Rhythm Garden are given the EcoPartner Certificate for organizing different environmental projects for their residents.
Dr. Edmond Cheng added, "We have spent extensive resources in implementing environmental protection measures in our properties and facilities. We always encourage our stakeholders to participate in various kinds of recycling and energy saving activities organized by the Environmental Protection Department and the other NGOs, letting them to engage and change their behaviours through different opportunities, thereby to support the government’s ‘use less and ‘waste less’ vision.”
Urban Group has also been recently awarded in the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence, the Environmental Campaign Council Clean Recycling Campaign, the Energy Saving Charter 2017, the 4Ts Charter and the Charter on External Lighting Award.About Urban Group
