Urban Group recently receives the Happy Company Label presented by the Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) for the fourth consecutive years to commend its contributions in establishing a happy workplace for its staff.
The Happiness-At-Work Label Scheme is organized by The Promoting Happiness Index Foundation and HKPC to encourage businesses and organizations to create a happy working environment and to raise the happiness-at-work level of the local workforce. The certificate presentation ceremony was held on 7th April, 2016 at HKPC and officiated by Mr Matthew Cheung Kin Chung, GBS, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, “We value our staff as the most important asset of Urban. We believe in ‘Happy Staff serving Happy Customers’. Hence, we provide the best working environment for our staff so as to enhance their sense of belongings towards the company. We aim to align our staff’s personal goals with our corporate vision to build up a committed workforce.”

Urban Group has been organizing various staff relations, sports and recreational activities for its staff including cooking classes, yoga classes and one day tours to enhance their team spirit and to enable them to have a relaxing time after the hectic work schedule. Moreover, “Tea Gathering” is held on the last Friday of every month in its office, aiming to gather its staff in workplace for building good work relationship in a relaxing atmosphere.
Dr Edmond Cheng said, “In future, we shall continue building a healthy and pleasant working environment, showing our concern and care to our staff to raise their happiness at work.”
