Urban Group and its 12 associated companies recently received the Caring Company Certificates in the Caring Company Recognition Ceremony organized by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) to recognize their endeavours in shouldering corporate social responsibility (CSR) to care for the community.

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group reveals, "Urban Group has been actively encouraging our associated companies to join the Caring Company Scheme over the past years. We have a total of 13 companies received the Caring Company Certificates, reflecting our continuous efforts in caring for the well-beings of the community, our employees and the environment. It also reveals that practicing CSR is one of our major corporate directions.”
Urban Group was among the first batch of companies to support the HKCSS Caring Company Scheme since its inception in 2002. Urban Property Management Limited, which has been joining the scheme for 13 consecutive years, together with 10 companies under Urban Group which joined the scheme from 2003 and 2004 respectively, received the 10 Years Plus Caring Company Certificates. Urban Group is also a member of the Patron's Club of the Scheme since 2006, joining forces with other business organizations and the social service sector to promote CSR.
Dr Edmond Cheng continues, "We are committed to build a harmonious community through actively involving in social service activities including the Trailwalker, Green Power Hike, the Social Welfare Department Volunteering Movement Campaign and the Community Chest events. We have set up our corporate volunteering team—the Urban Group Community Care Team since 2002 to enhance our social participation through organizing and participating in a number of activities such as visiting the elderly and assisting the socially deprived people. We also concern about the environment by supporting energy saving and waste reduction campaigns of the environmental groups to promote a low carbon lifestyle to our customers and other stakeholders."
