188 properties under the management of Urban Group recently joined the territory-wide energy saving campaign the Hong Kong No Air Con Night 2015 organized by Green Sense, encouraging their customers and staff to take actions in protecting the environment and lowering the global temperature by reducing carbon emission.
On 25th September, 188 properties managed by Urban Group turned off the air conditioning system of the buildings from 7pm to 7am of the next day, and encouraged their customers to join this meaningful environmental protection activity. The participating properties include Mei Foo Sun Chuen, City One Shatin, Pok Hong Estate in Shatin, Riviera Gardens in Tsuen Wan, Belcher’s Hill in the Western District and Park Lane Shopper’s Boulevard in Tsim Sha Tsui.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group said, "We are dedicated to engaging in various environmental protection activities, and the number of participating properties is increasing every year. This year, we have a total of 188 estates, shopping malls and commercial buildings joining the Hong Kong No Air Con Night, which has doubled last year’s figure. Through participating in this event, we hope to encourage our staff and the general public to care for the Earth together and play a part in alleviating global warming.”
Hong Kong No Air Con Night, which has been held for six years, aims to encourage the public to be aware of their energy consumption behavior through using less air conditioning to understand the importance of energy saving, thereby taking part in reducing greenhouse gas emission and enhancing the awareness of environmental protection.
Dr Edmond Cheng added, “Hong Kong No Air Con Night is an annual territory-wide energy saving campaign which promotes wise use of energy alongside protecting the environment.
