55 companies and properties under Urban Group participated in the Workplace Hygiene Charter Signing Ceremony on 10th July, Five property volunteer teams under Urban Group, namely City One Shatin Volunteer Team, Riviera Gardens Volunteer Team, Belair Monte Volunteer Team, Pok Hong Volunteer Team and The Merton Volunteer Team recently awarded the "Leading Caring Estate" Certificates in the Caring for Our Community 2014 Campaign organized by the Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service of the Social Welfare Department (SWD) to recognize the substantial voluntary services carried out by the teams over the past year.
The "Leading Caring Estate" Certificate was awarded to volunteer teams formed by residents of various properties who had accumulated substantial volunteer service hours over the past 12 months to recognize their services to the community. The 5 properties under Urban Group had accumulated over 1,000 voluntary service hours last year.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group reveals, "Urban Group has been a member of the Sub-committee on Promotion of Volunteering in Community Organizations under the Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service of SWD since 2000. We assist in promoting volunteerism to the people of Hong Kong through joining hands with SWD in a number of projects including the “Origami Action-Colouring the life” and “Hong Kong Citizen Hong Kong Heart” Volunteer Ambassador Program to spread the message of caring for the community to all walks of life in Hong Kong.”
“Moreover, we encourage our staff members and customers to participate in voluntary services organized by SWD and have been supporting the ‘Caring for Our Community’ Campaign since 2005 to mobilize our customers in the 358 properties under our service to form their own volunteer teams to serve the community. In addition, our corporate volunteer teams have been awarded the Appreciation Certificate for Volunteer Service and the ‘Leading Caring Estate’ Certificate by SWD, demonstrating our contributions in implementing CSR among our staff members and customers" added Dr Edmond Cheng.
