Hong Kong's Premier Property Assets and Facility Services Manager - Urban Group jointly organized with the Wan Wah Care and Attention Home for the Elderly under the Hong Kong Young Women's Christian Association (HKYWCA) on 15th November, 2014 to launch the Urban Group Caring Day 2014 social services event.
On that day, 86 corporate volunteers from Urban organized a healthy lunch with some 80 elderly living in the Care and Attention Home to show their love and care to them before the Senior Citizens' Day.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group, together with Ms Lai Kit Ngor, Supervisor of the YWCA Elderly Services Department, officiated the Launching Ceremony of the Urban Group Caring Day 2014, symbolizing the joint efforts of both organizations to spread a caring message to the community. With the theme of healthy living, Urban's volunteers also prepared a series of games and exercises for the elderly. A souvenir was presented to Ms. Shum Ching, the eldest participant of the day by Dr Edmond Cheng of Urban to express the sincere care to her. Moreover, gift packs were delivered to all participants so that they can all shared the joyful moments together.
Dr Edmond Cheng said, "Urban has been shouldering our corporate social responsibilities over the years through participating in various social service activities including the Trailwalker, Green Power Hike, fund-raising events of the Community Chest and the Social Welfare Department Volunteering Movement Campaigns. We actively encourage our staff and our customers to engage in social services through our corporate volunteering team - the Urban Group Community Care Team and our 31 property volunteer teams to care for the needy people in the society."
Dr Cheng said, "With our core value of 'Caring for the Community', we are committed to strive for the best endeavours to spread our caring message and efforts to every corner of the community every year."
Dr Edmond Cheng continued, "Urban Group has been receiving the Caring Company Certificate from the Hong Kong Council of Social Service for over 10 years. Our corporate and property volunteer teams have also been awarded the Appreciation Certificate for Volunteer Services and the Leading Caring Estates recognition, demonstrating our achievements in implementing corporate social responsibility among our staff members and customers."
