Urban Group recently received the "Outstanding Caring Award - Enterprise Category" in the Industry Cares Corporate Social Responsibility Recognition Scheme organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI) to recognize its efforts and achievements in shouldering its corporate social responsibilities (CSR).
FHKI launched its first Corporate Social Responsibility Recognition Scheme - Industry Cares in 2013 aiming to advocate and encourage member companies to pursue and recognize CSR excellence among members, so as to help promote CSR among Hong Kong's business sector.
The Industry Cares Award Presentation Ceremony was held during the FHKI 54th Annual General Meeting on 8 July 2014. Mrs Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, Carrie, GBS, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration of the HKSAR was the Guest-of-Honour to present the Industry Cares Awards to the winning companies.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group said, "We are delighted to receive the FHKI Industry Cares Award for the 2nd consecutive years and be awarded the Outstanding Caring Award - Enterprise Category, recognizing our efforts in shouldering CSR. Urban Group has been practicing CSR over the years through our continuous participation in various social service activities including the Trailwalker, Green Power Hike, fund-raising events of the Community Chest and the Social Welfare Department Volunteering Movement Campaigns. We actively encourage our staff members and our customers to engage in social services through our corporate volunteering team-the Urban Group Community Care Team and our property volunteer teams to care for the deprived people in the society."
Dr Edmond Cheng continued, "Urban Group has been receiving the Caring Company certification from the Hong Kong Council of Social Services for 12 years. In addition, our corporate volunteer team has received the Merit Award (Volunteer Team Category) in the HKPC Hong Kong Corporate Citizenship Award. Moreover, our property volunteer teams have been awarded the Leading Caring Estate recognition and the Gold Appreciation Certificate for Volunteer Service from the Social Welfare Department, demonstrating our achievement in implementing CSR among our staff members and customers."
