Grand Millennium Plaza in Sheung Wan under the management of Urban Group recently received Merit Award - Best Property Management Award in Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) in the 1st Best Property Safety Management Award jointly organized by the Occupational Safety & Health Council (OSHC) and the Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies, commending the achievement of the management team in implementing effective safety and health management in the workplace.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group pointed out, "We are committed to provide a safe and healthy workplace for our staff and business partners. The achievement of the Grand Millennium Plaza in the Best Property Safety Management Award provides a good opportunity for us to share our best practices with our counterparts. It also demonstrated our achievement in establishing a high safety and health standard in our managed properties and facilities through implementing the Group's OSH Policy."
"We have established our Group Occupational Safety and Health Committee to formulate our OSH Policy and to implement various activities to promote a safety culture across the Group. Over the past years, we have been actively participating in the OSH promotional campaigns organized by OSHC to benchmark and exchange experiences with our business counterparts as well as organizing various internal activities to enhance the knowledge and awareness of our staff in related safety areas." said Dr Edmond Cheng.
Dr Edmond Cheng continued, "Urban Group is committed to enhancing our OSH standards at work and our aim is to achieve the ultimate goal of zero accident rate in all our operations. All regional offices under Urban have to conduct regular meetings, safety checks and audits, risk and safety assessments to ensure the safety standard of every work process. We also appoint the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency to carry out regular surveillance audits to our operation systems. The audit findings substantiate our effort in developing a sound and sustainable OSH Management System for us."
