Urban Group and its 12 associated companies recently received the Caring Company Certificates in the Caring Company Recognition Ceremony organized by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) to recognize their endeavours in shouldering corporate social responsibility (CSR) to care for the community.

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group reveals, "Urban Group has been actively encouraging our associated companies to join the Caring Company Scheme over the past years. We have a total of 13 companies receiving the Caring Company Certificates, reflecting our continuous efforts in caring for the well-beings of the community, our employees and the environment. It also reveals that practicing CSR is one of our major corporate directions."
Urban Group was among the first batch of companies to support the HKCSS Caring Company Scheme since its inception in 2002. Urban Property Management Limited, which has been joining the scheme for 12 consecutive years, together with 10 companies under Urban Group which joined the scheme from 2003 and 2004 respectively, received the 10 Years Plus Caring Company Certificates. Urban Group is also a member of the Patron's Club of the Scheme since 2006, joining forces with other business organizations and the social service sector to promote CSR.
Dr Edmond Cheng continues, "We established the Urban Group Community Care Committee in 2002 to plan and implement all CSR activities across the Group. Our corporate volunteer team - the Urban Group Community Care Team has been engaging staff members as well as our customers to care for the needy people in the community through actively involving in social service activities including the Trailwalker, Green Power Hike, the Social Welfare Department Volunteering Movement Campaign and the Community Chest events. We also concern about the environment by supporting environmental protection and energy saving campaigns of the environmental groups to promote a sustainable environment. Moreover, we care for the well-beings of our employees through work enhancement programmes and activities to bring a healthy work-life balance to them."
