To help prevent various infectious diseases from spreading in the community, Urban Group supports the Epidemics Prevention for the Community Campaign jointly launched by its parent company Fung Seng Enterprises Limited (FSE) and the Tung Wah College (TWC) by organizing two Community Health Talks at Mei Foo Sun Chuen and City One Shatin respectively in May this year. Totally 200 residents and representatives from local communities attended the two Talks to obtain updated information on the preventive measures against infectious diseases.
Held on the 9th of May, the Community Health Talk at Mei Foo Sun Chuen attracted 90 residents and frontline management staff of the estate to participate. Whereas the Talk held at City One Shatin on the 24th of May has invited the Chairman of the City Committee Mr William K W Wong , Legislative Councillor Dr The Hon LAM Tai-fai, SBS, JP and Managing Director of Urban Group, Dr Edmond Cheng to attend together with 120 residents of the property.
The contents of the Community Health Talks covered the latest information on various infectious diseases and the respective preventive measures to be taken at the community level. Speakers of the Talks included Dr Kam Yuen Ching, Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner (Hong Kong) of the Tung Wah College who shared how to attain a healthy life with Chinese medicines; Ms Peggy Or, Lecturer from the Department of Nursing and Health Sciences of TWC also shared the latest information on aspiratory diseases prevention. Moreover, representatives from the Estate Management Office of Mei Foo Sun Chuen and City One Shatin presented their Environmental Sanitation Management Scheme implanted at the properties when the representative from General Security Group also shared their knowledge on professional security systems for infection diseases prevention.Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group reveals, "We fully support the Epidemics Prevention for the Community Campaign organized by our parent company FSE to help establish a safe, clean and hygienic living enviornment for our customers., We always shoulder our corporate social responsibility by reinforcing the cleaning services and sanitation measures at the properties and facilities under our management and requesting our service suppliers to escalate the hygiene standard to help prevent the diseases from spreading in the properties and the facilities."
