52 Buildings under Urban Group receive WSD Quality Water Recognition Certificates

52 buildings under Urban Group recently received 13 Gold Certificates, 7 Silver Certificates and 25 Blue Certificates in the Quality Water Recognition Scheme for Buildings organized by the Water Supplies Department (WSD) to recognize their endeavours in inspecting and maintaining a quality water supply system for the buildings.

The awarded buildings under Urban Group include:

Gold Certificates
New World Tower (Central), Queen's Terrace Blocks 1, 2 & 3 (Sheung Wan), No. 2 Park Road (Mid-Levels), Bon Point (Mid-Levels), Park Vale Shui Park Court, Cheung Park Court, Hong Park Court and Ning Park Court (Quarry Bay) and Pearl City Mansion Block A, B & C (Causeway Bay).

Silver Certificates
Chow Tai Fook Centre (Mong Kok), Kam Tai Court Kam Wai House, Kam Hing House and Kam Kee House (Shatin), Ocean Walk (Tuen Mun) and High Prosperity Terrace Block 1 & 2 (Kwai Chung).

Blue Certificates
Scholastic Garden (Mid-Levels), Lyttelton Garden Blocks 1 & 2 (Mid-Levels), The Parisian (Stanley), Kingsford Terrace Blocks 1 - 5 (Ngau Chi Wan), Euston Court Block 1 & 2 (Mid-Levels), Grand Millennium Plaza - COSCO Tower (Sheung Wan), Grand Millennium Plaza - Low Block (Sheung Wan), Pok Hong Estate Pok Tat House (Shatin), Fu Kar Court (North Point), Greenwood Terrace Block 1-7 (Chaiwan), Lung Fung Garden Block A, B & C (Sheung Shui), Villa Carlton Blocks 1-3 (Cheung Sha Wan) and Monte Carlton Blocks 5-8 (Cheung Sha Wan).

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group reveals, "The 52 buildings under Urban Group which received the Quality Water Certificates have participated in the Scheme continuously over the past 5 years and their water supply systems have been certified at a high quality standard."

Dr Edmond Cheng continues, "Urban Group actively encourages our respective owners' representatives and customers to support this Certification Scheme to ensure the effective maintenance of the water supply systems.  We also introduce a comprehensive repair and maintenance programme for our managed properties and facilities aiming to continuously enhance the asset value and to maintain the condition of our customers' assets.  These Certificates reflect the effectiveness of our stringent inspection and maintenance practices to the systems and facilities of the buildings."

Under the WSD Quality Water Recognition Scheme for Buildings, the plumbing system of the buildings should be inspected at least every three months by licensed plumbers or qualified building services surveyors or engineers to ensure that they are in good condition.  Any defect identified in the inspections should be promptly rectified.  In addition, the water tanks should be cleaned at least every three months when water samples should be taken and tested for items specified and the test results should comply with relevant water quality indicators so as to receive the Quality Water Certificate.
