Riviera Garden, Aldrich Garden and Parkvale, as well as the Head Office of Urban Group recently awarded the "Class of Excellence" Wastewi$e label organized by Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC). The Wastewi$e Label is a recognition scheme established to encourage Hong Kong organizations in adopting measures to reduce the amount of waste generated within their establishments or generated through the services and products they provide; and recognize the waste reduction efforts of those companies.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group reveals, "Urban Group strives to fulfill our corporate social responsibility to promote environmental protection in Hong Kong. We encourage our properties to participate in various kinds of green activities such as "Source Separation of Waste Scheme" by EPD, "Power Smart" organized by FOE etc, aiming to promote a green lifestyle to our customers and contribute to the sustainable development of the territory."
"Head Office of Urban Group has been actively participating in green management over the years. The Office has achieved cumulatively 24 goals in the Wastewi$e programme, reflecting our tireless efforts in sustainable development. Urban Group established its Green Care Committee in 2002, which since then initiates and implements our 4Rs Environmental Management Strategy of Remind, Replace, Reduce and Recycle in our service network of 230 projects, 1 million customers and 3,000 employees to promote green management services." Dr Cheng adds.
