37 buildings under Urban Group recently received a total of 4 Silver Certificates and 33 Blue Certificates in the Quality Water Recognition Scheme for Buildings presented by the Water Supplies Department (WSD) to recognize their endeavours in inspecting and maintaining the plumbing systems of the buildings.
Mr K M So, Executive Director of Urban Group reveals, "Urban Group implements a comprehensive maintenance and improvement plan for the buildings under our services. Our professional real estate and facility management personnel will carry out regular inspection and maintenance to the plumbing systems and building facilities at the properties so as to ensure the water supply systems are fully complied with the Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality recommended by the World Health Organization and to ensure the provision of the best quality water to our customers."
Under the Scheme, the plumbing system of the buildings should be inspected at least every three months by licensed plumbers or qualified building services surveyors or engineers to ensure that they are in good condition. Any defect identified in the inspections should be promptly rectified. In addition, the water tanks should be cleaned at least every three months when water samples should be taken and tested for items specified and the test results should comply with relevant water quality indicators.
Mr K M So continues, "To meet the demand of our customers in water quality and to provide the best real estate and facility management services to them, we actively encourage our customers and their respective owners' incorporations to support this Certification Scheme by WSD to ensure the effective maintenance of the water supply systems to benefit the residents."
