Urban Group actively participates in the "Caring for Our Community" Campaign organized by the Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service of the Social Welfare Department (SWD) and advocates its customers in various properties under its management to organize voluntary service teams to serve and care for the community. Recently, 3 properties under the Group (for property having 1,501 units or above) were awarded the "Leading Caring Estate" Certificates by SWD for their substantial accumulated voluntary services of over 1,000 hours in 2008.
The certificate presentation ceremony was held during the Launching Ceremony of the 2009-10 Volunteer Campaign and the 2008 Commendation Ceremony on 25th July 2009. Dr Edmond Cheng, Vice President of The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies officiated the ceremony with other guests and presented prizes to properties reaching the highest service hours.
The 3 properties awarded as "Leading Caring Estate" under Urban Group included:

Together with the Corporate Volunteer Team of Urban Group —— The Urban Group Community Care Team and volunteer teams of various properties, the total service hours of staff members and customers of Urban Group in 2008 reached 10,667 hours.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Vice-President of The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies and Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, "Under the promotion of The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies, Urban Group has been among the first batch of the property management companies supporting the "Caring for Our Community" Campaign organized by SWD since 2005 to mobilize our customers in the 200 properties under our service to form their volunteer teams. 32 properties under our services have already established their volunteer team to serve the community."
"Urban Group is also a member of the Sub-committee on Promotion of Volunteering in Community Organizations under the Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service of SWD. We assist in promoting volunteerism to the people of Hong Kong through joining hands with SWD in a number of projects to spread the message of caring for the community to all walks of life in Hong Kong," added Dr Edmond Cheng.
