Urban Group recently received "The Best Property Management Company in OSH - Merit Award " and "The Best Performance Award - Silver Award" in the Construction Safety Day 2009 organized by the Occupational Safety & Health Council (OSHC), showing its care for the safety and health of its employees and recognizing its achievements in building a safe and healthy working culture.
During the Prize Presentation Ceremony held on 3rd July 2009, Mr. K M So, Executive Director of Urban Group pointed out that, "Urban Group always emphasizes on providing a safe and hygienic workplace for our staff and business partners. We established the 'Occupational Safety and Health Committee' in 1998 to formulate our occupational safety and health policy and to implement various activities to promote a safety culture. We are committed to enhancing our occupational safety and health standards at work, and our aim is to achieve ultimately zero accident rate. Over the years, we have been working hand in hand with the OSHC to promote occupational safety and health to our staff."
Moreover, 26 properties under Urban Group participated in the Fight Flu Hygiene Charter Signing Ceremony on 10th July 2009 organized by the OSHC to vow commitment on promoting a safe and hygienic workplace.
The event aims to encourage employers across the industry to ensure the safety and hygiene of the workplace as well as to prevent the spread of infectious diseases. OSHC invited various organizations to sign the "Occupational Hygiene Charter" jointly organized with the Labour Department, seeking their commitment to improve and set the standard for the hygienic level of the workplace.
Mr. K M So represented Urban Group to sign the Charter together with representatives of the 26 properties. He revealed, "In response to the spread of various infectious diseases in the Hong Kong community, we have launched the 'Environmental Sanitation Management Scheme" to alert our customers on the preventive measures and to appeal for their joint effort to prevent the spread of infectious diseases in our managed properties."
