Urban Group's Strategic ERP receives Best Practice Awards - Leadership by Example

Urban Group received the Best Practice Awards - Leadership by Example organized by the Best Practice Management Magazine on 6th November 2008 to recognize its achievements in adopting a strategic Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) model. 

The objectives of launching the Best Practice Awards are to drive corporations to pursuit management excellence in diverse business functions and to facilitate inter-corporations and cross-industries benchmarking by selecting outstanding corporations as role models.  Mr Sidney Yuen, one of the founders of the Awards, said, "Different from the other management awards, the judging criteria of "Best Practice Awards" are based on customers' and employees' level of satisfaction.  We believe that employees' recognition and co-operations are keys to any distinguished corporate management.  Besides, only with the support of continuous improving work systems and procedures, we can provide quality products and services to the clients. Therefore, we collect the feedbacks and comments from the customers and staff of the participating corporations as the evidence of our appraisals."

Following the winning of Best Practice in Innovation in 2003 and Best Practice in Customer Relationship Management in 2004, this is the third award received by Urban Group in the same event. Mr Francis Chiu, Executive Director of Urban Group stated, "This is our honour to have received the Best Practice Awards for the third time and we are inspired by the recognition.  We truly understand that perseverance and continuous improvement are the prime factors to attain best practice in different management areas."

Our ERP model assists our frontline staff to serve our clients better.  As the scope of real estate services is very extensive, we are cautious in selecting our suppliers and working partners so that we can ensure high cost effectiveness and efficiency for the benefits of our customers.  Urban Group also launched the Quality Improvement Circle Scheme to exchange corporate policies and service standards with our service partners.  Such measures can ensure the quality of the suppliers and strengthen our overall supply chain management."

Mr Chiu said, "We are eager to participate in the benchmarking and sharing activities among different companies like the Best Practice Awards so that we can learn, thrive and develop together.  They help us brainstorm and initiate new ideas and management concepts from other industries."
