Urban Group receives HKIM Brand-with-a-Conscience Award - Caring Work Environment Silver Award and Certificate with Merit

Urban Group received the "Caring Work Environment Silver Award" and the "Certificate with Merit" in "Brand-with-a-Conscience Award" presented by The Hong Kong Institute of Marketing (HKIM) on 5th November 2008, to recognize its endeavors and achievements in building a premier corporate brand, fulfilling corporate social responsibilities and promoting a caring work environment. 

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group emphasizes, "It is not easy to strike a balance between business interests and social responsibilities, especially for a big real estate and facility management services group like Urban which is serving one million of customers with backgrounds from all walks of life.  We regard corporate governance and corporate social responsibilities as our strategic focus.  We strive to protect the goodwill and market share of the company by establishing a caring brand image.  Meanwhile, we hope to ensure the operations of the Group can satisfy the needs of different stakeholders."

Organized by HKIM, the Brand-with-a-Conscience Award aims to recognize organizations which contribute to the betterment of the society by humanity and ethics.  It encourages industries to develop their brand with conscience that helps establish a fair and ethical society.  Led by Dr Chan Yan Chong, Professor of the City University of Hong Kong, the judging panel selected the awardees based on six principle of business conscience, namely, Business Ethics, Corporate Governance, Fair Trade and Business Practices, Caring Work Environment, Environmental Care and Community Care during a 3-stage screening process.

Dr Cheng says, "Over the years, Urban has positioned as Hong Kong's Premier Community Manager, in which Community Care and Respect Employees are our corporate core values.  The target of fostering Employee Care is not limited to helping our employees to achieve in their career goal, but also to spread the caring culture to the community."
