39 buildings under Urban Group recently awarded the Quality Water Recognition Scheme for Buildings Certificates for its endeavours in inspecting and maintaining the plumbing systems to raise the quality of tap water supply to the users of the buildings.
Mr K M So, Executive Director of Urban Group revealed, "Our professional property asset and facility management personnel carry out regular inspection and maintenance to the plumbing systems and other building facilities at the properties to ensure our customers can enjoy the highest quality of water supply. Our water supply systems fully comply with the Drinking Water Standard under the Guidelines of the World Health Organization to ensure the provision of the best quality water to our customers."
Under the Scheme, the plumbing system of buildings should be inspected at least every three months by licensed plumbers or qualified building services surveyors or engineers to ensure that they are in good condition. Any defects identified in the inspections should be promptly rectified. In addition, the water tanks should be cleaned at least every three months and water samples should be taken and tested for items specified, and the test results should comply with relevant water quality indicators.
Mr So continued, "We have been supporting this Certification Scheme of the Water Supplies Department since 2002. We are striving to promote the scheme to all of our 230 properties to ensure the effective maintenance of the water supply systems to benefit our customers."
