19 Properties under Urban Group support
World Vision's Used Book Recycling Charity Sale Campaign

19 properties managed by Urban Group supported World Vision Hong Kong to launch the "Used Book Recycling and Charity Sale Campaign" between July and August this year.  The Campaign obtained overwhelming support from its customers as over 20,000 books were collected for World Vision's to support the Sichuan School Rehabilitation Projects after the earthquake on 12 May.

Dr. Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group said, “To fulfill our 4Rs corporate missions in environmental care including Reuse, Recycle, Reduce and Replace, and our strategic focus of Environmental Care Year in 2008/09, we have been encouraging our customers in properties under our management to participate in the Used Book Recycling and Charity Sale Campaign of World Vision over the past few years.  Books collected from our customers include textbooks, leisure readings, novels, children's readers and reference books, which have been donated to World Vision Hong Kong for charity purposes.”

“The Used Book Recycling Campaign enables us to assist the educational programmes for the children in Mainland China, to contribute to environmental protection and to lessen the financial burden of parents in purchasing books for their children.” Dr. Edmond Cheng added.
