9 properties under Urban Group joined the "2007/08 Caring for Our Community" Campaign organized by the Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service of the Social Welfare Department, organizing residents' volunteer teams to serve and care for the community and were recently awarded the "Leading Caring Estate" and "Caring Estate" certificates by the Department to recognize their community involvement.
Among the 9 properties, Belair Monte in Fanling was awarded the "Leading Caring Estate" certificate through serving the community with over 1,100 volunteering service hours. The other properties awarded the "Caring Estate" certificate included City One Shatin, Pok Hong Estate in Shatin, Riviera Gardens in Tsuen Wan, Mei Foo Sun Chuen, Handsome Court in Tuen Mun, Cheong Shing Court in Fanling, Sereno Verde in Yuen Long and Rhythm Garden in San Po Kong.
The Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service of the Social Welfare Department started promoting the "Caring for Our Community-Starting from Serving Elders" Campaign in 2005, sending their appeals to various major property management companies to encourage residents to form volunteer teams to serve the community.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, "Urban Group was the first batch of the property management companies supporting the "Caring for Our Community-Starting from Serving Elders" Campaign organized by the Social Welfare Department (SWD) in 2005 to mobilize our customers in the 230 properties under our service to form their volunteer teams. Up to now, 32 properties have formed their own volunteer teams to serve the community."
