The Opening Ceremony of the new campus of Victoria Shanghai Academy at Shum Wan Road - a new facility management project of Urban Group - was held on 15th May 2008. Officiated at the Ceremony have The Honorable Mr Michael Suen, GBS, JP, Secretary for Education of the Hong Kong SAR, Dr Henry Cheng, GBS, Managing Director of New World Development Company Limited, Dr Maggie Koong, School Director and Chief Principal and Dr Sherrill Shiu, Head of School of Victoria Shanghai Academy.
The new campus of Victoria Shanghai Academy houses 60 classrooms and 9 project rooms for both Primary and Secondary sections. Other facilities of the new campus include a Multi-purpose Hall, DT Workshop, Swimming Pool, Cafeteria, Visual Arts Rooms, Dance Studio, Music Room and Practice Rooms, Orchestra Room, Dance Studio, Drama Studio, Auditorium, Multi-media Production Centre, Student Activity Centre, Amphi Theatre, Covered Playground, Basketball Court, Soccer Pitch, Rooftop Track-and-Field Sportsground and Libraries for Primary and Secondary Section. Urban Group has been providing property asset and facility management services to the new campus since 16th August 2007.
Dr Sherrill Shiu, Head of School of Victoria Shanghai Academy said during the Opening Ceremony, "We would like to thank the substantial support, commitment and professionalism from various organizations to make our dream come true. Thanks also go to the staff of Urban Property Management Limited for ensuring the best conditions on campus for the learning of our students."
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, "After being appointed by the Board of Directors and the management of Victoria Shanghai Academy, we have set up an independent professional facility management team to study the requirements of the different users so as to design the best services for them. Since then, we have been working closely with the school management to provide a pleasant study environment for the teachers and students."
