To collaborate with the HKSAR Government in promoting social enterprises, Urban Group fully supports the initiative of its parent company New World Development Company Limited, who launched a social enterprise titled "Road to Green - Striving for a Young New World" with the Tuen Mun Youths Association.
The joint venture will provide training and job opportunities for young people in need through the core business of used clothes collection and selling by the social enterprise.
In the initial phase, 10 properties under Urban Group will be participating in the project including:

The "Road to Green - Striving for a Young New World" project is aiming to provide training and job opportunities for young people aged 15 to 25 through the running of a sustainable social enterprise; so as to help them rebuild confidence and re-integrate into the society. The major concept of the project is to collect the used clothing from the residents and after classification by this newly established social enterprise, part of the clothing will be sold to the public whereas certain clothing will be giving away to people in need.

By participating in this meaningful project of 'Road to Green - Striving for a Young New World', we shall encourage our customer in our managed properties to donate their used clothes to the enterprise, which not only provides job opportunities for the young people, but also help promote environmental protection in Hong Kong."
Dr Edmond Cheng reveals, "10 properties under our management will join the project in the initial phase. We shall continue to shoulder our responsibility as 'Hong Kong's Community Manager' and encourage more customers to participate in this meaningful project so as to build a harmonious society together."
