5 properties under Urban Group recently received the "Source Separation of Domestic Waste Scheme Certificate" jointly organized by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) and The Hong Kong Association of Property Management Companies Limited (HKAPMC), commending their efforts and contributions to environmental management.
The 5 awarded properties are: Kaiser Estates ((Phases 1, 2 and3), World Peace Centre and Kwai Fong Commercial Centre in Kwai Chung, MP Industrial Centre in Chai Wan and Wah Luen Industrial Centre in Shatin.
Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group states that, "Urban Group always strives to fulfill our corporate social responsibility by participating in various environmental care activities. The certificates we received well recognize our contributions to environmental protection and waste reduction."

In 2007, EPD launched the "Programme on Source Separation of Commercial and Industrial Waste" which aims to encourage the property management sector to undertake initiatives in setting up and implementing suitable mechanisms to separate and recover waste within commercial & industrial premises. This will facilitate the users to practice waste separation and recycling in the workplace.
