Four properties under Urban Group, namely Tin Wan Court in Aberdeen, Aldrich Garden in Shau Kei Wan and Monte Carlton in Sham Shui Po recently received the "Caring Environment Award" and City One Shatin obtained the "Improvement Award" in the Caring Environment Recognition Scheme 2007 organized by The Labour and Welfare Bureau of the Hong Kong SAR Government, Hong Kong Council of Social Service, The Hong Kong Joint Council for People with Disabilities and the 18 District Councils, recognizing the endeavors and contributions of Urban in building up a caring environment in Hong Kong.
Caring Environment Recognition Scheme 2007 is the first year to be launched to acknowledge commercial organizations in their endeavors to make concrete improvements in barrier-free access and facilities for integration of people with disabilities. After comprehensive site visits and evaluations by the judges, 4 properties under Urban Group were awarded in this scheme.
Mr K M So, Executive Director or Urban Group said, "Urban actively promotes our Corporate Social Responsibility among our customers to build a harmonious society. We encourage our managed properties to introduce improvements in barrier-free access and facilities to care for the need of people with disabilities."
Mr K M So continued, "We try our best to introduce alterations in our building facilities to fulfill the needs of people with disabilities. For instance, City One Shatin under our management has built up over 46 numbers of disabled ramps, providing a caring environment for people with disabilities to access the buildings and facilities. This improvement work is well appreciated by the residents. We would strive to improve the existing facilities in other properties managed by us to create a barrier-free society for the Hong Kong people."
