Managing Director of Urban Group, Dr Edmond Cheng was recently awarded Capital Leaders of Excellence 2007 organized by the Capital Magazine to become the first corporate leader in the property asset and facility management industry to have received the honour.
The Capital Leaders of Excellence 2007 Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 26th November 2007 at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre. The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding business leaders in the Greater China Region who have contributed to the prosperity and stability of the society. Honourable guests included The Honourable Mr James Tien Pei-chun, GBS, JP and The Honourable Mrs Selina Chow Liang Shuk-yee, GBS, JP.
This year, totally 15 awardees were selected, including two Capital Young Leaders of Excellence and one Capital Innovative Young Leader. The judging criteria was comprehensive and convincing, covering areas such as contributions to the society and the industry; leadership and management style; personal development; and, work-life balance. The judging panel was composed of two groups, namely the Capital editorial board and community notables and professionals, each contributing 50% to the final score.
Managing Director of Urban Group, Dr Edmond Cheng was honoured to have been selected as the Capital Leader of Excellence 2007 and would like to share this glory with 3,000 fellow staff members in Urban as their trust and support were crucial to his achievements. Dr Edmond Cheng expressed his gratitude by emphasizing the increasing professionalism of property asset management services in Hong Kong. As a pioneer in professional property management services, Dr Cheng advocates enhancing professional status of the practitioners by collaborating with industry counterparts, aiming to create a convenient and comfortable working environment for the Hong Kong people, thus boosting the efficiency of the society.
