Managed by Urban Group, New World Tower in Central has been actively participating in the "Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Certification Scheme for Offices and Public Places" organized by the Environmental Protection Department (EPD) since 2006 and was recently received the "Good Class Indoor Air Quality Certifi" from EPD, recognizing their efforts in achieving good indoor air quality and providing a pleasant working environment for all users of the property.
Ms Anissa Wong, Permanent Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works (Environment), stated in the Certificate Presentation Ceremony, "The HKSAR Government is dedicated to promoting good indoor air quality. 'The Indoor Air Quality Certification Scheme for Offices and Public Places' was launched by the Environmental Protection Department in September 2003, which aims to encourage both public and private organizations to adopt good IAQ management practices and pursue the best indoor air quality.
"As one of the landmark Grade A commercial premises in Hong Kong, New World Tower is serving thousands of people in Hong Kong every day. Good indoor air quality is essential for the health of all users in the property. In this regard, Urban Group has implemented a number of improvement works on the indoor air quality system for the property. For instances, replacing stainless steel louvers and ducks in the PAU rooms, replacing PAU filters and scheduled regular cleaning for filters and ducks, to ensure the highest level of air quality," Mr K M So, Executive Director of Urban Group said.
