Urban Group presents the ¡§40 Years of Quality Real Estate Services ¡V Building a Harmonious City¡¨ Celebration Cocktail today (27th September 2006) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, inviting representatives from its managed properties and guests from various sectors to celebrate the important milestone of Urban.
Officiating Guests of the Celebration Cocktail include Mr Stewart C K Leung, Executive Director of New World Development Limited and Founder of Urban Property Management Limited; Mr Chan Kam Ling BBS, Executive Director and CEO; Mr Andrew Wong, Mr Patrick Lam and Mr William Junior Guiherme Doo, Executive Directors of NWS Holdings Limited; and Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group. Attending the ceremony have 800 guests who gather to witness this memorial event of Urban.

The heritage of Urban Group originates from the management of Hong Kong¡¦s large-scale composite development project ¡V Mei Foo Sun Chuen, which commenced from 1965. It successfully introduced modern western property management concepts into Mei Foo and further implemented them in the management of City One Shatin, another large-scale project under Urban. In 1981, with the support of New World Development Limited, the corporate brand of Urban Property Management Limited was formed. Over the years, Urban has expanded from a professional property management company to a consolidated property asset and facility management group with businesses covering all levels of property asset and facility management services and has been further expanded to project management, engineering, building repairs and maintenance.

In addition to celebrating 40 years of services, Urban Group, represented by Managing Director Dr Edmond Cheng signs the Quality Social Service Partnership Charter with Po Leung Kuk, represented by Chairman Mrs Louise Mon, during the ceremony to kick off a series of corporate social responsibility programmes for the people of Hong Kong.
According to Dr Cheng, ¡§As Hong Kong¡¦s Premier Community Manager, Urban upholds corporate social responsibility to serve the people of Hong Kong. We have organized 10 joint venture projects with Po Leung Kuk in 2005 including ¡¥PLK District Elderly Campaign¡¦, ¡¥PLK Elderly Mini-University Campaign¡¦, ¡¥Minor repairs and maintenance for the elderly¡¦, ¡¥PLK Village Casserole Fest¡¨, and donations of computers and reference books to secondary and primary schools of Po Leung Kuk. We hope to benefit the needy people through our active participation in different social projects. In the coming year, we will continue to establish the ¡¥Quality Social Service Partnership¡¦ with the Kuk to serve the community.¡¨
