Urban Group is actively encouraging their customers in its over 300 properties to participate in the "Caring for Our Community¡ÐStarting from Serving Elders" Campaign organized by the Social Welfare Department (SWD) from January 2005 to December 2006, mobilizing them to form their own volunteer team to serve the community so as to promote the Group's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Community Involvement to all properties.

The Steering Committee on Promotion of Volunteer Service of the Social Welfare Department started promoting the "Caring for Our Community¡ÐStarting from Serving Elders" Campaign in January 2005, sending their appeals to various major property management companies. A representative of Urban Group was invited to present on a Voluntary Service Sharing Seminar organized by SWD on 12th March 2005 to talk on "How to assist residents to form volunteer team and participate in volunteer activities".

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, "Under our full support, 20 volunteer teams were established in our properties over the past years to promote our CSR concept and community involvement to our customers. We endeavour to achieve the target of establishing 'one Community Care Team for each property' and ultimately enabling all our 300 properties to become a 'Caring Estate' to consolidate our efforts and fulfill our Core Value of 'Community Care'."
