Un Chau Estate under Urban Group wins
HKHA Green Property Management Award for 2 consecutive years

Managed by Urban Group, Un Chau Estate in Sham Shui Po obtained the Certificate of Merit in the "Green Property Management Award 2004-05" (PMA Category) presented by the Hong Kong Housing Authority (HKHA) for 2 consecutive years, becoming a role model of green property management in Hong Kong.

Organized by HKHA, Friends of the Earth, The Conservancy Association and Green Power, the "Green Property Management Award" aims to initiate public housing estates adopting green management measures as well as to encourage the participation of property management companies and residents in environmental protection. The adjudication panel based on 4 major areas including "Green Leadership", "Program and Performance", "Synergies of Partnership" and "Creativity" to select the award winner every year.

Dr. Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group pointed out that, "Under the encouragement and support of Urban Group, Un Chau Estate has been implementing a comprehensive "Premier Environmental Care Policy" to provide a quality 'Green Lifestyle' to our customers. With the ultimate goal of waste reduction and energy saving, we encourage our staff members to adopt recycled paper, introduce the e-mail and e-patrolling systems, install the automated illumination systems and establish a Waste Collection Station at the property. In 2004, Un Chau Estate also co-worked with Friends of the Earth and St James Settlement to organize various recycling programs for moon cake box and second-hand electrical appliances respectively."
