Urban Group participates in "Origami Action - Colouring Your Life"
Distributes 1,500 paper flowers to singleton elderly

Urban Group participated in the Origami Action - Colouring Your Life Campaign organized by the Social Welfare Department in late 2004 and folded 1,500 flowers for distribution to the elderly people.

150 staff members and customers from various volunteering teams under Urban Group contributed their time to fold the flowers. Members of the Urban Community Care Team ¡Ð the corporate volunteer team of Urban Group distributed 1,200 folded flowers in a Caring Campaign held during January to February in 2005 to the singleton elderly living in the 7 Housing for Senior Citizens managed by Urban including Un Chau Estate in Cheung Sha Wan, Hong Tung Estate in Sai Wan Ho, King Lam Estate and Ming Tak Estate in Tseung Kwan O, Wah Oi House of Wah Kwai Estate in Aberdeen, Sheung Lok House, Sheung Lok Estate in Homantin and Tin Tze Estate in Tin Shui Wai. Whereas the remaining 200 flowers were distributed by customers of the Estate Community Care Team to the elderly of the YMCA Sai Wan Ho Social Service Centre.

The 'Urban Community Care Team' was established in 2002 with over 200 registered members. The team engaged in a number of social service in 2004, which has accumulated a total service hours of over 1,300 hours to help the needy people in the society.

Dr Edmond Cheng, Managing Director of Urban Group revealed, "In the past year, the 'Urban Community Team' has been involving in various social and volunteering services such as home visits to the elderly people and help in the cleaning and minor repairs works of their homes, knitting scarves and distributing lucky packs to the needy people to realize our corporate social responsibility for creating a caring community in Hong Kong."
