Urban Group Premier Walkers completes 100 km Oxfam Trailwalker Journey in 28 hours

Following the participation in the charitable Trailwalker activity organized by Oxfam Hong Kong in 2002 and 2003, Urban Group again sent 4 "Urban Premier Walkers" to join this annual walkathon this year. "The Urban Premier Walkers" successfully completed the 100km journey in less than 28 hours to raise HK$25,000 for the community.

Oxfam Trailwalker is one of the Hong Kong's largest fundraising events. Since its launch in 1986, more than 42,000 walkers have raised over HK$180 million towards various poverty alleviation and emergency relief projects in Africa and Asia, including Hong Kong and mainland China.

A total of 980 teams comprising 3,266 walkers participated in "Oxfam Trailwalker 2004" held from 5th to 7th November this year. The event aims to raise funds for helping the poor and supporting the development projects and emergency relief programmes in Asia by completing the 100 km Maclehose Trail within 48 hours.

Four team members of "The Urban Premier Walkers" were selected from the 4,200 staff of Urban Group. With strong perseverance and esprit de corps, they finished the 100 km trail from Sai Kung Pak Tam Chung to Tuen Mun with their best record after a series of intensive training over the past 3 months. They finished the journey in 27 hours and 57 minutes, enabling the Urban Premier Walkers to become the FIRST team in the Hong Kong Property Asset and Facility Management Industry to complete the trail in less than 28 hours.
