Urban Group joins Voluntary Appeal of Junior Chamber International HK
Date: 06/08/2004

Urban Group, Hong Kong's Largest Property Asset and Facility Management Group, has been actively participating in various voluntary movements in the society to establish their corporate social responsibility.

Recently, Urban Group becomes the ONLY property management company in the territory to participate in the Voluntary Appeal jointly organized by the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong (JCI) and the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals to help promote volunteerism in Hong Kong.

The Voluntary Appeal by the JCI and the Tung Wah Group was launched in July this year and will last until end August to appeal for the society's support and participation in voluntary services.

According to Mr Francis Chiu, Director - Corporate Services of Urban Group during the Launching Ceremony of the Appeal, "Since we established our voluntary team - 'The Urban Community Care Team' in 2002, we have up to now 400 volunteers, which comprises our staff members and their families as well as our customers. Social services provided by the Community Care Team include visits to the elderly and the distribution of lucky packs to the needies. The participation in voluntary services enables us to perform our corporate social responsibility and contributes to the building up of a better team spirit in our Group."

Mr Chiu said, "We are most delighted to become the ONLY property management company to join the Voluntary Appeal of the JCI and the Tung Wah Group and very much hope that with our network of 320 projects under our management, we can assist in promoting the appeal in the Hong Kong society."

Urban Group has already started assisting JCI to post up promotional posters on the notice boards and distribute appeal flyers to their customers in the properties under their management for the event since July 2004.
